Atlanta Home Project Description
In the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood near downtown Atlanta stand two container homes built by contractor Glen Donaldson. Four years after the first was erected, ConGlobal was hired to deliver containers to build the second.
ConGlobal supplied two of the four containers and performed the steel cut outs, framing, and exterior painting. The open-concept house features approximately 1,800 square feet of finished living space, three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a large two-car garage. Much of the container interior is covered except for the ceiling to maintain the industrial feel. The house boasts an industrial look but has all the modern amenities.

Containers & Modifications
CGI Container Sales in Atlanta handled the delivery of the containers to the project site, which required the coordination of multiple drivers. It also required an electric pole to be moved before delivery could begin.
The house was built with six (6) 40’ high-cube containers to form a three-story structure. The project started in July 2010 with the last containers delivered in October 2010. ConGlobal Atlanta supplied two of the four containers and did all steel cut outs, framing, and exterior painting. Each container required 50-65 labor hours.
Details & Summary
The house boasts a very industrial look with the inside walls removed to provide an open-concept. Much of the container interior is covered except for the ceiling to maintain the industrial feel but has all the modern amenities. This current house is the second container house built by Glen Donaldson, a general contractor in the Atlanta area. The first house took six months to build and was completed in September 2006. The two houses are next door to each other, offering a complementary look.
